When people think of donations to nonprofits, they typically envision large checks or transferring money from bank to bank. In the past year, however, H.O.P.E. Inc. has been significantly impacted by another method of donation: cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency — a digital form of currency — has grown in popularity over the past several years, and now many are using Bitcoin or other digital currencies to maximize their charitable giving.

At H.O.P.E. Inc., we have seen the powerful impact of such donations, receiving over $25,000 in cryptocurrency donations last year. We could not be more grateful! These funds have increased our capacity by 25%, and through them, we’ve been able to hit our milestone: serving over 100 single parents!

We’ve witnessed first-hand how this support has changed lives. According to a recent survey taken in March 2023, here’s how our graduates have been impacted since they joined our program:

  • 91% of H.O.P.E. graduates are now working in their career field, and the remaining are working at higher income levels in another career field.
  • 50% of graduates are the first member of their family to attend college and graduate.
  • 47% of our graduates were making under $20,000 when they started the program, and now all 47% make between $20,000 to $40,000. Of those, 3% have raised their incomes between $40,000 to $50,000 — a 75% income increase!
  • 50% of our graduates did not have a savings account when they began the program, and now 78% have established savings accounts with an average balance of $3,253.

H.O.P.E.’s mission is to help single parents pursue higher education, overcoming barriers to seek better careers and lives for their families.
