Volunteer

We have supported hundreds of single parents, and even more children, with our program, but the truth is we couldn’t do it without volunteers.

Want to support us with your time and skills? We are always happy to find people that desire to help us execute our mission. Our community is filled with intelligent, talented, resourceful individuals, and we look forward to meeting you.

We are sure you will find something you would love to help with, but if you don’t see anything that fits you, reach out to us via email at info@hopbe.org.

How Can I Help?

As a small and growing organization, volunteers are always useful. If you have great administrative skills, are a design professional, love to tutor children, or like to help with creative projects, you can be of great use to Team HOPE.

Let us know what you’re good at and we’ll let you know how you can help.

Most of our administrative volunteer opportunities are for adults 18 and older, and some may require background checks. However, there are opportunities for teens and younger kids to support our mission, like at our 5K event. Teens make great social media ambassadors and children 13 and under can manage a refreshments table very well.

Volunteer at our next event

Volunteer at the Westside Park 5K/10K!

Join us on Saturday, September 27th, for the Westside Park 5K/10K—the first and only 10K fully inside Shirley Clarke Franklin Park, Proctor Creek Trail, and the West Highlands! Last year, it sold out a week early, and more slots are opening up in 2025.   We need amazing volunteers like you to make it happen. There are substantial ways you can help at this event. We thought we would list a few:

  • help at the check-in table, t-shirt distribution
  • Water stations
  • Course marshals
  • Finish line support
  • First aid
  • Clean-up crew

It’s also a perfect opportunity for your company or service group to get involved!

Last year, we sold out a week early, and we’re opening more slots in 2025. Every runner gets a super-soft shirt and finisher medal—and every registration and sponsorship supports Hope, Inc., helping single parents stay in college by providing rent & childcare assistance, financial training, counseling, and social services.

Be part of something bigger than a race—be part of HOPE!
