How long we retain your data

We use PII in support of our organization’s mission. Uses include contacting you about programs and activities, requesting and facilitating donations, processing scholarship/aid applications, distribution of services/assistance under scholarship/aid awards, and for site analytics and functionality purposes as described above.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

H.O.P.E., Inc. respects the privacy of your personally identifiable information (“PII”). As a user of this website (the “Site”), we will take appropriate measures to protect your PII provided by and collected from you on the Site. You can choose to stop receiving information from us about content or services: You can email kpiercelewis@hopbe.org with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line to be removed from our mailing list. If you are a scholarship/aid recipient, we will continue to provide communications to you as needed.

Where we send your data

Managing a non-profit organization also requires us to share your PII with certain third parties. We may share PII with third parties when (i) the person submitting the PII authorizes us to share it; (ii) a third party performs a function for us directly related to the operation of the Site or our organization, such as contacting our supporters, processing payments, or verifying eligibility for our services and scholarships/aid awards; or (iii) we are required to by law or court order to do so.
