Michelle suffered great financial hardship due to working 25 hours a week at a Belk’s retail store making  $9 hours, while  diligently working to complete her Bachelor’s  degree in Social Work (BSW) at Georgia State University. Her  required internship schedule made it very difficult to find full-time employment and she was at her wits end. Her low income made it very difficult to pay  rent monthly.
